 NEW IMPROVED SATA VISION 2000 NOW NIOSH APPROVED

 Recently SATA Farbspritztechnik and Co., the
manufacturer of top quality spray guns and other equipment applied
for an "Extension of Approval" for their new version half mask and
Vision 2000 full mask supplied air respirators. Subsequently the new
versions were NIOSH approved earlier in the year 2000. The SATA half
mask has been assigned approval number TC-19C-210 and the SATA
Vision 2000 full mask TC-19C-211. The new approvals concern the belt
unit with charcoal filter (No. 37200 full mask, No. 37192 half
mask); the breathing mask (No. 51854 full mask, No. 39693 half mask)
and a new respirator accessory, SATA Top Air (No. 89086).
The
air supply hose, the T-fitting to split incoming air and the
connection of a paint gun are NOT a part of the SATA NIOSH approved
zero hose length respirator system, however these accessories can
legally be used. NIOSH approved respirators must be supplied with
Type 1 Grade D air within the approved pressure range at the point
of attachment of the respirator to the air delivery system. Dan-Am
Company will offer high quality 3/8" Gates Premoflex non-gassing
hose in lengths from 25 to 100 feet. Due to the variety of lengths
available, it will be necessary to order hoses
separately.

The Vision 2000 hood is comfortable to
wear with an adjustable headband. Painters with reasonable beard
length, mustaches or eyeglasses will appreciate the full hood
protection with wide field of vision and non-glare anti-static
visor. The hood is hygienic due to easily replaced linings and
sweatband. It also features a tip-up visor making it unnecessary for
the painter to remove the hood between coatings. |

The SATA Half Mask offers a perfect
face fit with four point fixed head straps for seating the mask
safely. The solvent resistant frame is made of natural rubber and
neoprene and provides draft free air distribution inside the mask.
Painters selecting the SATA Half Mask should keep in mind it does
not provide complete protection against dangerous Isocyanates that
can be absorbed through the eyes and facial skin.

Dan-Am recommends the use of high quality
Gates Premoflex non-gassing hose. Lengths of 25, 35, 50, 60, 75
and 100 feet will be offered. Both versions utilize a belt mounted
activated charcoal filter unit. It assures compressed breathing
air quality free of hydrocarbon vapor and odor. An alternative to
the charcoal filter belt unit is the industrial belt valve.
However, the valve unit must then be connected to a wall-mounted
activated charcoal filter such as the 0/394 unit and a separate
air hose must be used for the paint
gun.

The quest to remove moisture from
compressed air with refrigerant or desiccant dryers and several
stages of air filtration creates extremely dry air. Now SATA has
developed an efficient means of introducing humidity back into the
respirator. Using state-of-the-art medical membranes, breathing air
is brought up to a relative humidity of 30%. The NEW SATA air
humidifier accessory for breathing air is called TOP AIR.
